Japchae (Chap Chae)

Ingredients:

  • 3 Bunch Starch noodles (300 Grams)

    • 2 Bunch Spinach (100 Grams)

      • 3 1/2 Tablespoon Soy sauce (or more)

        • 2 Tablespoon Sesame oil

          • 4 Tablespoon Olive oil

            • 2 Medium Carrot (cut in to strips)

              • 4 Medium Spring onion (cut in to strips)

                • 1 Medium Red onion (cut in to strips)

                  • 10 Small White mushroom (cut in to slices)

                    • 5 Medium shiitake mushroom (cut in to slices)

                      • 3 Clove Garlic (minced)

                        • 200 Grams Beef (cut in to thin slices)

                          • 2 1/2 Tablespoon Sugar

                            • 1 Teaspoon Ground pepper

                              • 1 Teaspoon Sesame seeds

Directions:

Step 1

In a medium sized boiling pot boil water for about 5 minutes. Add noodle in to the boiling water and cook it according to packet direction. When the noddle is cooked enough, drain the excess water and transfer into a large mixing bowl then add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil into the mixing bowl and mix well. Set aside.

Step 2

Again In a medium sized boiling pot boil water for about 5 minutes add spinach in to the pot and boil for about 1 minute. Then drain the water and rinse with cold water, squeeze the excess water then cut in to slices transfer in to the noodle and add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil mix well.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a sauce pan when oil is hot add carrot in to the sauce pan, fry it for about 5 minutes until carrots are soft. Transfer the carrot in to the mixing bowl mix well together.

Step 4

Again heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil, once it hot add onion and fry it about 2 minutes, then add mushrooms and spring onion in to the sauce pan keep cooking for about 3 minutes. Transfer the vegetable in to the mixing bowl, mix well all together.

Step 5

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil & add beef into the pan and fry evenly for about 5 minutes. Then add shiitake mushroom and garlic in to the pan fry about 2 minutes. At the same time add 1 teaspoon of soy sauce in to the pan and stir well.

Step 6

Now add 1 tablespoon of sugar into the pan stir well. Keep cooking for further 2 minutes. Transfer the mixture in to the mixing bowl. At the same time add 1 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, 2 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and ground pepper into the mixing bowl, mix well all together. Sprinkle few sesame seeds top of the noodle just before serve.

  2. So much scrumptious food on this site! I love Korean food and was just watching a show where japchae was made. This makes me want to make it at home even more!
